Subway Logo Origin

Our Subway Logo is an ode to the New York City Transit Authority’s iconic signage system, taking influence from Massimo Vignelli and Bob Noorda’s visual revamp of the late 1960's. Inducted in 1970 as a new, consistent visual guide to the city’s past merging subway system, Vignelli and Noorda of the Unimark agency applied Modernist and simplistic information design through the use of the Helvetica font and bold colors that nearly 50 years later is still in use in New York’s subway system.

A staple to our offering for over a decade, the Subway Logo T-Shirt is revisited seasonally with updates to application and color ways. This seasons’ offering comes in a Lilac, Forest Green, and Navy.Soft washed and garment dyed 6.5oz, 100% cotton. Made in U.S.A.
